Facebook hits 350 million users, announces privacy changes
Facebook announced today that they have surpassed the 350 million user mark. Facebook officially reached 300 million members back in mid-September 2009, and marked their 250 million member back in mid-July of this year.
Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg, posted an open letter to all of the Facebook members about the upcoming updates to the site. Facebook has posted an advance warning of the upcoming changes asking members for feedback. The company has previously changed the site on numerous occasions and received negative feedback from members regarding the changes.
The open letter to all the Facebook users mentions that the upcoming changes to the website will remove the current regional networks, which are said to be overloaded with members, some with more than 100 million members.
I am not a big fan of social networking websites. But I am astonished that how these websites like Twitter and facebook blown up in popularity.
