Internet Explorer development is unstoppable in spite of stiff competition which faces: the battle of the browsers not finished yet. Windows Internet Explorer 9 is already in the oven, but not ready yet. In any case, you can take a look to their technical characteristics through this preview.
Windows Internet Explorer 9 Platform Preview is not the new version of web browser or even a Beta version. Windows Internet Explorer 9 Platform Preview is just a foretaste designed to allow developers and web designers to test their website in the future browser environment.
That being said, Windows Internet Explorer 9 Platform Preview announces nevertheless promising features. It provides a much faster new JavaScript engine Chakra (using multiple cores simultaneously), supports the HTML5 paving the way for richer web content and ensures better compliance with standards in force with the support of CSS3.
However, it now gets a poor score of 55/100 on the Acid3 test, but that remains always better than Windows Internet Explorer 8 (20/100). Internet Explorer quite unusual in this version, missing typical elements such as the address bar.
After installation of the platform preview, you can enjoy IE 9 rendering capabilities via demos, movies, online maps, small games and other test resources made available by Microsoft.
