Nero continues one of the most famous names when the subject is burning data. The idea of Nero BurnLite is keeping only the basic functions of Audio and Data burning and copying discs. Purchase a license is necessary to enable advanced features such as recording songs in high quality or presentations, videos and photos etc.

Attention during Installation

When installing Nero BurnLite 10, a window can appear requesting the installation of some components of Windows. If this happens, the program automatically installs everything, so don’t bother to download additional resources elsewhere.

Another aspect you should pay attention during installation is on Ask Toolbar. Although the installation is mandatory, but there is an option to change the default search engine and the browser home page. Just leave these fields unselected.

Interface and Use

Nero interface is extremely simple and straightforward. The homepage is a welcome message. In the left corner, there are four buttons to burn data, audio burning, audio ripping and disc copy. Don’t care about Rip and Burn Audio, because these options are not available in free version of Nero BurnLite. You must have to upgrade to Nero Multimedia Suite 10 to enjoy everything you need for burning and ripping audio CD/DVDs.

So, all you have two buttons. By clicking on “Data Burning”, a new window appears. Write a name of your disc in “Disc Name” field. To add files, simply click “Add” and indicate the content you want to write. This content can be better organized inside the CD with the creation of folders. Watch out for the bar that sits at the bottom of the screen, which controls the space available on disk. With everything ready, click Burn.

To copy a CD or DVD, simply insert the disc to be copied and click Copy. A small bar displays the progress of the copy in the lower left corner of the screen.

Settings

User can modify some aspects of the functioning of Nero BurnLite 10, as the burning speed, verification of data on disc after burning etc. But remember, the higher the burning speed, the greater the chance of errors, which can result in real headaches.

Nero BurnLite 10 equips with a feed reader. Simply enter the desired address and set the update interval of the news.

By clicking in the lower left corner of Nero BurnLite 10 (small arrow next to the Nero StartSmart), You can access Nero Toolbox including Disc Eraser, Disc Analyzer and Nero ControlCenter.
