Twitter is a social network where you share your blog; send a message telling what you are doing at the moment, your thoughts, links, your day to day activity etc. All this can be submitted by several different mediums, by the website itself or by email or SMS. The only condition is that you don’t pass 140 characters per post. TweetDeck is an overview of everything that is related to Twitter.
How to Use the Program
TweetDeck was created using Adobe AIR technology. Therefore, you must have Adobe AIR installed on your computer. After installation, you must log in to your Twitter account. The interface is a bit different if you compare it with other programs, mainly because the application was developed in Adobe AIR.
If you want, you can send messages simply by typing in the blank field and clicking on Send button. In first column of “All Friends”, you will find all updates regarding your friends. You can create groups of your friends of Twitter and monitor what they post, very similar to a RSS subscription. In “Search” you perform searches about any subject, to discover what people talk about it, what they think etc.
In “Mention” and “Direct Messages” columns, you receive updates of new answers that were made of your posts and messages from other users directly sent to you.
Practicality Updated
The new update of TweetDeck brings a series of small updates to facilitate their use and ensure that you stay inside of updates more quickly and conveniently.
The first change concerns the refresh time of messages. Now the program is capable of displaying the tweets much faster, since the API was increased to 350. For easier reading of what your friends say, TweetDeck also added a new tool that enables navigation between columns. With it, you use a single view and switch easily among the rest.
If you are irritated with the difficulty to perform searches, be aware that the new version simplifies the process. If before it was necessary to create a new column for search, now just edit it and insert the new term. Another great novelty refers to view videos and images directly from TweetDeck. So, when your friends send links from YouTube or TwitPic, a small window opens in the application itself.
Connectivity with Other Social Networks
Despite still having Twitter as the main social network, TweetDeck opened the doors for other services. Now the popular program is also able to interact with Google Buzz and the FourSquare.
This is the main novelty of micro blog client, which allows you to use multiple user accounts. The best thing is that, by more that make the integration between various services, TweetDeck allows switching between them, besides making posts on them all at once.
