Bloggers, companies and individuals began to use the Twitter as a platform for debate and dissemination, particularly since the release of API site. Many developers have created tools to improve, speed up and facilitate the use of the site. One such tool, designed mainly for companies or teams of common interest, HootSuite offers the possibility to control several accounts on Twitter through an online interface.
HootSuite allows you to receive several messages separated into columns. For example, you may receive the timeline of each account separately, or in a column, and in another column you can receive all the information (or @ replies) and direct messages, and so forth, in an infinite number of columns. However, the number of columns which will be visible each time depends on the size and resolution of your monitor screen. To find the other columns that are hidden, simply do the scrolling side of the screen.
HootSuite also offers facilities especially for bloggers and news portals. For business profiles or collective blogs and other initiatives in team, you can register several editors for certain accounts in Twitter. So it is possible that more than one person will be liable for certain profile updates.
Like most services that allow updating the Twitter account, HootSuite also has ability to shorten URL (with ow.ly). To shorten a web address, simply paste it into the field and click Shrink it, the short URL will be inserted automatically into the text field.
