Open multiple instant messengers at the same time is an excruciating task on some computers, not to mention that the machine is memory intensive. Trillian is a great choice to access multiple messengers with just one application.
If you use MSN, Google Talk, Yahoo Messenger, or any other program to communicate with your friends and family, you can give Trillian a try. The aggregator instant communicators are beautifully designed and refurbished. The great advantage is to access multiple accounts of different services using a single program. But integration is not limited to messengers only. Trillian also integrates your profile on different social networks including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Foursquare. So you talk and monitor everything in one place that goes through different services.
Beautiful and Practical
Trillian is more compact and now with Windows 7 style. The main menu of the program can now be accessed by a button, very similar to Opera and the beta version of Firefox.
How do you prefer to view your contacts? Large, medium or small icons, miniature or without icons or just with status indicator, No problem. Just choose the best display mode for you from the top bar of the program. The same button also features different themes and possibilities for organizing contacts, by alphabetically or service.
The networks are connected in their own windows, accessible through icons in the system tray. That way, they do not blend with the main aggregator window, avoiding confusion.
Customization
Trillian has endless possibilities for customization. There are different plug-ins, skins and packages to extend and customize the interface and functionality of the program in many ways.
How to Install
Despite being very simple, installation requires a bit of attention because some undesirable options may be marked. For example, you are asked, whether or not to download and install Ask Toolbar in your browser. Uncheck the option “I accept the license agreement and want to install Free Ask Toolbar” if you do not want to install this tool.
Creating an Account
The application manages all of your accounts through their own logins. If you already have one, simply login and begin. Otherwise, create an account through Trillian itself. Simply choose a user name, password, reminder question for the password and email address.
The next step is to add the messengers you want to use; Windows Live Messenger, Google Talk, AOL Instant Messenger, ICQ, Yahoo Messenger or MySpace IM. You can also connect to different social networks including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Foursquare. In order to connect to these networks, please log in each of them and allow the integration with Trillian.
Trillian can also connect to email accounts using IMAP or POP3. By registering an account, their e-mail is automatically configured. Finally, share personal information such as name, gender, marital status and date of birth. From there, you’re ready to go.
The new look of Trillian is beautiful and modern. Problems such as the program suddenly close or not detect the microphone, now no longer part of Trillian. In addition to more practical, it is more stable and is definitely one of the best of its kind available today. With all these improvements made with each new released version, Trillian makes your conversations much more fun and with more style.
