The computer is an indispensable tool for daily activities of most of the world’s population. In an increasingly technological world, this equipment promotes greater productivity and entertainment. However, if you do not preserve the planet now, we will have major problems in a not too distant future, according to many environmentalists. Small actions, such as shutting down the PC while you don’t use, can improve our living conditions.

According to the above video, produced by the designer Nigel Upchurch, in USA, United Kingdom and Germany the percentage of employees who use computers every day are 74%, 78% and 79% respectively. If we take into consideration that in Germany there are 40 million people who work full-time, 79% of those count more than 31 million computers are used to sustain families.

This large population of machines running, it was found that approximately 14 million (44%) are not turned off by users. It results in an exorbitant and unnecessary power consumption during the nights and weekends, which committed hundreds of wind power plants. If we light on this information to global proportions, you’ll find that an inexhaustible amount of energy is being wasted, which could feed other social activities. Turn off your machine after going though. Think well of our ecosystem.
