Facebook Face Recognition Facebook Will Automatically Identify Faces

Facebook is going to introduce a new feature that will allow automatic facial recognition in published photos. The resource is controversial, since it involves issues of privacy. The function will operate through comparative system. When the user or contact upload new images, the algorithm will compare the faces with other already tagged photos.

The feature will work by suggestion, i.e. identification will depend on the user’s approval to be published. The user also has the option to delete their name from the list of identifiable through the privacy settings.

According to Facebook, each day more than 100 million tags are listed in the social network. Automatic recognition of faces will be available in the United States in the coming weeks. Facebook not confirmed when this feature would be available in other countries.
