Pixlr
One of the dreams of most people who edit photos is to have an online editor that can be accessed on any computer with Internet. The problem is that finding this winning combination of practicality and quality can be very difficult. Pixlr, however, proves that it is not impossible! It brings the main editing tools and features for a completely free online service that has the potential to debunking many free editors that exist in the market.
I think the main attraction (when you start the program) is the great similarity of the GUI with the most famous program Photoshop. When you start the application, the first thing that happens is the appearance of a check box to choose where is the file that will be edited. You can choose between creating a new image, edit one that is in your computer or an image that is already hosted on the Web. The supported files by the program are JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, PSD and PXD.
Based on what would be more common for the amateur user, we go straight to the “Adjustment” palette. There you will find all basic settings like brightness, contrast, and saturation levels. The settings are quite similar to the Photoshop and are well assimilated. Since we’re talking of things in common with Photoshop, also have a list of several artistic filters and effects in the “Filter” palette and the possibility of working with Layers. On the left we have the basic controls menu such as rubber, brush, stamp and zoom tool. I tested some possibilities of stamp and it is very efficient for small things, but areas with many shades the effect is not well employed. After all effects and edits applied, you can choose to save the image on your computer or online so that you can show your friends.
