UK Govt. Wants to Block Porn Websites
UK Government wants to combat the exposure of sex to children on the Web. In a meeting should be held shortly, Govt. must ask the broadband providers to increase the restrictions to all porn websites, keeping them locked to any user.
According to information from The Guardian, the measure includes an application to consider automatically block access to these pages to any Internet surfer, regardless of age. Individuals who wish to access them would opt for unlocking, for example, can trigger filters that prevent access to pages with certain content. This means that all porn websites with pedophile content would be blocked, unless the person asks specifically to access them.
The Minister of Communication, Ed Vaizey, should meet soon with companies like BT, TalkTalk and Virgin Media to discuss how to prevent children to exposed pornography on the internet. Among the arguments used by the conservative party, which defends the cause, is the fact that 60% of boys between 9-19 years see pornography on the Internet, but only 15% of parents know how to use the filters to block access to certain websites.
