MP3Tag 2.48
The tags (metadata) present on some formats of audio files store information about the songs, such as title, artist, album, track, genre, year of release and much more. This information is used by audio players to display on-screen information about the music being played. If this information is not being displayed, it is likely that the tags of audio files are not satisfied and you will need a tag editor to insert this information.
MP3Tag is a powerful, but easy to use free tag editor that offers a wide range of resources for you to edit the tags of your music files such as MP3, WMA, OGG and others. MP3Tag lets you edit tags from all popular audio formats (MP3, WMA, WV, OGG, MP4/M4A/M4B (compatible with iTunes), APE, AAC, FLAC etc), and supports various formats of tags (ID3v1, ID3v2.3, ID3v2.4, iTunes MP4, WMA, Vorbis Comments and APE).
To add audio files for editing, click the “File” menu then “add folder” and enter the directory where are audio files. When you add a directory, the program displays all the audio files in that directory, along with the tags information. When you select an audio file from the list, you can edit its tags from the left pane. For advanced editing of tags, right-click the file and choose the option “Tags”.
To fill the tags information automatically, select the audio files in the list, click the “Sources” menu and select online database where you want to search for information. Other features of MP3Tag include batch editing, importing the file name for the tags, rename files based on tag information, create playlist etc. MP3Tag also supports integration with the windows context menu, allowing you to right click on files to open them for editing in MP3Tag.
