DropTunes – An Online Music Player
Dropbox is one of the most popular online file storage services and you can also use it to store music files. DropTunes is a free online service that offers an online music player for you to hear the songs stored on DropBox from any computer.
DropTunes is very easy to use. To begin, you need to create a free Dropbox account, which offers 2 GB of space (approximately 400 songs), which should be sufficient for most users. Then download the Dropbox and send the songs to your online storage space. After you send the songs to Dropbox, you can connect at DropTunes from any computer to listen to the songs. Visit the DropTunes site and login with your credentials. Once logged into DropTunes, it will automatically display all the folders in your Dropbox account. Just browse to the folder with the songs and click the “Play” button to start listening to them.
DropTunes offers two modes of play (Flash and HTML5). The Flash mode only supports music files in MP3 format, while HTML5 is capable of playing MP3, OGG, M4A and WAV. DropTunes interface provides all basic controls and volume control. Moreover, once it finishes playing a song, the next song in the list is played automatically.
A feature that is lacking in DropTunes is the support of creation of playlists. However, if you’re looking for a simple solution to listen your favorite music anywhere, DropTunes is a good option.
