Facebook could face a fine of up to €100,000 ($139,000) after an Australian law student discovered that the social networking site held 1,200 pages of personal data about him, much of which he had previously deleted.

Max Schrems, 24, requested a copy of his data after attending a lecture hosted by Facebook's chief executive, Mark Zuckerberg whilst he was on an exchange program at Santa Clara University in California. He eventually received a CD from the social networking giant, and was shocked to find information through Read More

Steve Jobs, co-founder and former CEO of Apple died today at age 56 years. Exact cause of his death was not disclosed, however, it is likely that he has not withstood the cancer, the disease against which he was struggling since 2004.

"Apple has lost a creative genius and visionary and the world has lost a wonderful human being. Those of us who had the good fortune to know Steve and work with him have lost a great friend and a mentor that he inspired. Tablet owners love the devices so much that they’re taking them everywhere — even the bathroom — according to a new study.

Staples Advantage, Staples’ business-to-business unit, polled 200 tablet owners from companies of various sizes and across multiple industries in June. The survey found 35% of tablet owners use the device in the loo. The respondents also admit to taking their tablets to restaurants (30%), on vacation (60%) and using them in bed (78%).

We have been hearing rumors about an app store for Windows 8 circulating for some time but Microsoft never broached the subject. Until now, when confirmed this on this official blog post.

The President of Windows Division, Steven Sinofsky, presented the team of engineers working on the next version of operating system. Mentioning the teams, Sinofsky included a team of app store, plus a team for compatibility of apps and devices; another application and experience of music; and another to experience of apps. The most used browser in the world turns 16 years old. Internet Explorer completed 16 years of its existence yesterday. The first stable version of browser, Internet Explorer 1.0 was released on August 16, 1995.

Contrary to what many people think, Internet Explorer was not a creation of Microsoft. The browser, which was called Spyglass Mosaic was purchased by the software giant for $ 2 million, modified and released as the Microsoft browser.

A new game ticker

When you're playing games, you'll now see a separate stream of your friends' game activity, scores and achievements in a ticker. The best way to find new games is through friends, and now you'll have more opportunities to see what they're playing.

Maybe your best friend has started playing Sims; your roommate has a new high Read More
